so helpful...

Last Thursday Kolton decided to help out around the house. He got out the big vacuum and did almost the entire living room. Then he helped me fold towels and even a pair of his shorts and a shirt. The shirt he actually did like at the stores...the three fold deal...it was perfect! I can't believe how big he is!!

Kolton's wife....

Kolton says he's going to have two wives...which I told him was illegal to have them at the same time. I also encouraged him to only have one...

Regardless, he told me his wife was going to have 5 babies. He wants 5 kids! Anyway, I asked him if he was going to help his wife take care of the babies and even change diapers! He said "yeah, mom...I will help her do all that stuff!"

SWEET...his future wife should LOVE us!

Apple Bottom Jeans :)

Here are the actual lyrics to the chorus of this song...

Apple Bottom Jeans, Jeans
Boots with the fur, with the fur
The whole club was lookin' at her
She hit the flo', she hit the flo'
Shawty got low low low low, low low low low

Here is Kolton's version:
Apple Potted Jeans, jeans
Boots with the fur, the fur
Lookin' at her
She hit the flo', she hit the flo'
Next thing you know, shake it down low low low low, low low low low

Go Deigo, Go!

June 21st, 2008

Kolton had been wanting to see this LIVE since he saw the advertisements for it last year! Being the mom that I am...I want my child to have it all :). I decided (thank you, Kristi) to take Kolton to see the show at the UCF Arena. It's an hour drive to the arena...it was $10 to park. When you get to the front door they tell you that no cameras are allowed in the building and that if you have one you actually have to turn around and return it to your car. This is not a short walk...especially with children. I would love to tell you how many people I heard threatening the security guards but it's just to numerous! I, for once, did not even bother taking my camera and was extremely grateful.

Once inside we headed up the stairs to locate our seats. We got a tad distracted by the food and drinks...and the merchandise stand. Kolton ended up with a stuffed baby jaguar and some blue cotton candy. I chose a healthy water :). Once inside it did feel like it took forever for the show to start! About 15 minutes into the show my child informs me that he's ready to go...I didn't actually take that too well. I told him how much it cost (because at 4 they totally understand that) and how much time it took to get there...and that we weren't leaving so he better just turn around and enjoy it!

We actually did leave a little early. I do start to feel bad for him and his sensitive ears when even his earphones aren't helping him. We had a birthday party for Josh to get too anyway...and that involved a pool! On the way he conned me into buying him some popcorn for the ride home...lucky little boy.

First Movie!

June 6th, 2008

I took Kolton to see his first "in theater" movie and he chose the blockbuster, KUNG FU PANDA. It was an adventure that I haven't tried repeating yet. We got there in enough time to eat lunch but I wasn't really using my mommy brain. Why would a kid want lunch when there's popcorn and candy and soda inside? Although he didn't realize that until we were headed to the movie...and then the whining began. I took one look at the line and decided that if we were to stand in it that we would miss the first 20 minutes of the movie and I didn't give in. Looking back...I think that was a huge mistake! It may have kept him quiet for the remainder of the movie!! I have learned my lesson though...popcorn and soda it is!

Catching up...a little...

May 2008
After Matt and I took a TrucksGoneWild.com business trip to Iceland (at the end of May) with the rest of the TGW crew we got home...barely had time to unpack...and then rushed off to see the beaches of Sarasota with Kristi, Patrick, and William. It was a nice WARM change from our previous environment and of course you should all know by now how much Kolton loves the sun and sea!

A Mother's Song to her Child

I heard this song for the first time today...
It's beautiful!

"In My Arms" by Plumb

your baby blues
so full of wonder
your curley cues
your contagious smile
and as i watch
you start to grow up
all I can do is hold you tight

knowing clouds will rage and
storms will race in
but you will be safe in my arms
rains will pour down
waves will crash all around
but you will be safe in my arms

story books are full of fairy tales
of kings and queens and the bluest skies
My heart is torn just in knowing
you'll someday see the truth from lies

when the clouds will rage and
storms will race in
but you will be safe in my arms
rains will pour down
waves will crash all around
but you will be safe in my arms

Castles, they might crumble
dreams may not come true
but you are never all alone
'cause I will always
always love you

when the clouds will rage and
storms will race in
but you will be safe in my arms
rains will pour down
waves will crash all around
but you will be safe in my arms
in my arms

Kolton's First Soccer Game!

April 5th, 2oo8

First let me apologize for not keeping up with this blog better. I did so good for such a short time! I'm going to try and keep up with it again especially since he is just growing and changing and getting busier all the time!

Today was his first soccer game. We've had two practices leading up to today and one soccer clinic. He has enjoyed all of his practices so I was hoping he'd just get out there and play...and he did! Once he figured out the concept of having another team out there he really started playing. He did an awesome job of running up and down the field and even worked with other teammates to get the ball towards their goal. He scored 3 times!!

Here are some pictures from his game:

Spring Break...here we come...oh wait....

Daytona Beach but not for Spring Break!

Kristi and Patrick and William took an impromptu trip and decided to stay overnight on the Beach...we were invited up the next day to hang out at the beach and swim in the pools. While we did manage to "see" the beach...we never made it onto the sand. I think Kolton was afraid if he got out of the pool that he wouldn't be able to get back in!! He is doing so good with his "swimming". He is holding his breath on purpose and going underwater on his own (even without jumping in). He is also doing a great job treading water...we are so proud of him!

Water World at Mosaic Church...

July 1st, 2007

Mosaic Church in Oakland, FL turned their property into a "water park" this past Sunday. They had inflatable water slides of different sizes EVERYWHERE. He was just running up the ladders and doing all kinds of slides on the way down into the little pool. It was impressive! They also had this cool bubble making machine that would fill up a pit and the kids would just slip and slide all over the place! Kolton thoroughly enjoyed himself (as usual) and came home covered in suds and a little bit of cotton candy!!

Visiting Nini and Jeff's Pool!

June 30th, 2007

Kolton and I made plans to visit with Nini and Jeff...to swim and cookout! Of course we had a lot of fun and managed to get a good swim in before the rain came. After we visited the pool Jeff cooked us some yummy hot dogs and hamburgers and we watched Cars.

Monkey Joe's

We all headed up to Monkey Joe's one Thursday instead of the beach because the weather people kept telling us of the dreaded rain (which there was little to none...but ANYWAY...) and it was a lot of fun. It is definitely a great option for rainy days or if you're just tired of being HOT! It was full of different types of bounce houses and slides...even an obstacle course! They also have a section for 3 years old and younger (not that mine stayed in there!!).

(The quality of the pictures are not great...with all the running around it was definitely hard to get a clear shot!
