Father's Day at Kobe's!

Sunday, June 17th, 2007

We decided Kobe's would be a FANTASTIC place to celebrate Father's Day especially since we all love the place but never get over there. It was Kolton's first time there and he was on his best behavior the whole night. Our chef made sure to do the onion volcano...without us even asking!! Kolton thought that was pretty cool and then he even tried to eat his food with chop sticks!

TGW at Showcase of Citrus

Saturday, June 16th, 2007

Trucks Gone Wild had another infamous water crossing event at Showcase of Citrus. Dallas, Kolton, and I headed out there in the morning to see the action...and to spend the day at the lake ;). There were plenty of kids there and the boys played hard all day!

Waterlogged....

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

Kolton and Payton decided they'd like to "swim" today! :)
First Tiffany and I took them to Lake Louisa State Park. Kolton loves the water so he was playing with his toys and swimming "alligator" style in the shallow water. Payton wasn't so sure about the lake water...she did finally decide to put her feet in though. Tiffany couldn't put the "rest" of her in without drawing some unwanted stares from other people! haha!!

After our visit to Lake Louisa we decided to head over to Tiffany's mom's house and use her pool. After a couple of times of Kolton jumping in I finally convinced him he could touch the bottom and his head would be above water. Then...he really didn't need me anymore! He would jump in and swim (doggie paddle) over to the float and then climb into the float all by himself! My child impresses me daily.
Payton got right in the pool water with no problem and floated around on her raft for a little while. Then she decided that the float Kolton was climbing into was much more interesting than her own :). So she got in the water and played and went between floats (when Kolton wasn't paying attention!). They both did so good!

Watch Out Sarasota!

June 6th & 7th, 2007

I was fortunate enough to be able to head down to Sarasota with Kristi to her grandparents condo for some "away time". I hadn't been down to Sarasota in a very long time so we drove around and managed to find the Daiquiri Deck in Siesta Key where we had dinner. Then we headed up to ChaCha Coconuts (for live music but there was NONE)...after a brief stop there a local directed us to the Five-O club where the band Men from Mars were playing awesome 80's music!

All the boys came down the next morning and we headed straight to the pool. Kolton wants to be a little fish! He definitely keeps us on our toes though because he literally jumps in the pool over and over and over again. He would go all the way underwater and work to get his head above water all by himself. He was "swimming" from one person to the next and loving it! He's a little bit of a "show-off"...can't imagine WHO he gets that from!

William wasn't so sure about the water at first but that didn't take long. He was just as happy hanging out in the pool as he was out of it. Next year...I'm thinking we'll have TWO jumpers!

After a while at the pool we headed down to an inlet on the beach. The boys played for a little while before William went in to take a nap. Kolton, Matt and I stayed out on the beach for a few minutes longer as the boys were making ramps out of sand and launching their trucks over them into the water!

We decided to head back up to the pool for the rest of the afternoon. Kolton continued to jump in and officially wore us out! Of course he's the only one that got to sleep on the way home!!

Memorial Day 2007

On Memorial Day a lot of our family and friends were able to come to the house and celebrate. We had LOTS of good food and fun!

Dad and Papa AND the "bad" kids section ;)

The kids kept cool in the pool....

and on the slip n' slide...
the adults finally got on the slip n' slide but it was close to dark and those pictures didn't turn out so well!

First MUDHOLE for Kolton...

Sunday, May 20th...

This is one of those times that Matt and I both forgot the camera!!!!! But I still wanted to share it with you guys since it was pretty much a first for him. He has been out to Lakeland a couple of times for Matt's events but was still pretty young and we didn't stay long. This day on the other hand...was different!

We drove out to Palmer's in Mascotte (area) around 10 am. Kolton immediately found a friend...named Carson...who was already playing in the mud with some trucks. They had a huge mud hole of their own! I was only intending to stay until his nap time but he played so good the whole day that I didn't want to mess with him :). We didn't leave until close to 4pm! He and Carson played with trucks the entire time. The guys that brought Carson came totally prepared! They had HUGE jugs of clean water to wash their hands with when they wanted to eat or drink. They also kept the mud hole from drying out...the boys would say "we need more water" and they'd fill it up for them. It was GREAT!

Upon leaving we had to give him a hose down bath (along with his trucks). He was so dirty that he literally changed color! I didn't even bother trying to get his shorts clean either...it would have been quite impossible...so those got tossed!
Even giving him a bath at home wouldn't take all the mud off...it literally had to "wear" off!!

MGM Studios

May 17th, 2007

A big thank you to Kristi's Mom for getting us into MGM Studios. We started out by taking the boys to see the "Playhouse Disney" show. William totally enjoyed it...Kolton was a little hard to please!

After the show we decided that the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground would be a great tool for expending energy. On the way there we stopped by a kiddie tattoo shop and let the boys get rockin' stamps! Lightning McQueen for Kolton and Mater for William!

Once again...on our way to the playground...we get sidetracked! The boys got to see Leo and Annie from the Little Einsteins and Mickey Mouse (in his costume from the movie Fantastia). Kolton and William were both so excited to show off their "tattoos".

Finally...we're at the playground!! My child LOVED the huge super-soaker gun that would squirt a stream of water about every 30 seconds. Needless to say he was soaked! After letting them run, climb, slide...and get wet...we decided to call it a day :). The mommies were exhausted!
