Kolton went Bowling!

On Sunday, January 21st we celebrated Joyanna and Seth's 19th birthdays and went bowling. It was during his naptime so he had a hard time being patient and waiting for his turn but he just loved it!! He went first, followed by Joyanna and Sean, then Sean's sister Heather, his mom Vina, and finally Maw Maw. We kept reminding him that it was his turn again after Maw Maw. It was so cute because he would literally walk up to the line and throw the bowling ball down the lane. Then he would stand there and wait with his hands behind his back! Little man! He did great...he bowled a game in the 70's! ha ha! When Matt got home that evening he told him all about his "fun"...and without prompting he actually said that his ball knocked down the "pins". It really amazes me the words and context they pick up on without being told! I will post pictures soon...I didn't have my camera so I used Jeannie's. Now I'm just waiting on her :).

The "New" Park

Kolton asked to go to the new park this afternoon when we picked him up from school. We had a feeling he might ask so we went prepared with jackets (because it's freezing) and the camera. Here are a few pictures from our evening.

Another semester of Not Just Dance!

Kolton has started another semester of Not Just Dance! He is in an all boys class and they have so much fun. Not Just Dance is a combination of art, music, and dance/coordination. He has learned so much since starting there a year ago.

You can click on the Not Just Dance link above to see the website...and to see Kolton on her front page! Here are a few other pictures from his previous performances! The top picture was from June 2006...his first time on stage! The other two are from December 2006...he doesn't look nearly as frightened :).

Always there to help one another!

Kolton and Ellie were able to get together this evening and play. They did great tonight...I don't think they had any unmanagable disagreements! Kolton does think however, that if he needs to use the restroom then Ellie must also. She obliges. They sit across from one another and talk or read books. Sometimes they stay in there in excess of 10 minutes...and it's so peaceful for us (the parents)!

Tonight...we decided we needed to capture this on film. We need all the ammunition we can get for their teenage years!

First Few Weeks of the New Year...

These few weeks have been very hectic! The first weekend of the year Matt flew to North Carolina to announce a truck show. He left on a Thursday and returned home on Sunday morning. It is sometimes very trying for me when he is away...Kolton knows how to push all of mommy's buttons! We try to keep the weekends BUSY when Daddy is away!

This past weekend Matt was in Texas for another Monster Truck show. Once again he was gone from Thursday to Sunday. I took Kolton in for a haircut on Thursday. He does SO good. He sits in the chair all by himself and usually eats a snack while she does his hair. It takes almost a half hour but he sits there *mostly* patient! On Saturday Kolton and I went for a walk on the trail by Lake Minneola and then headed into downtown Clermont for the Arts and Crafts Festival. Kolton made out...he picked out a "construction" themed lap desk and we had his name put on it. It says Kolton's Construction Co. The basket will hold toys or books and the top he can use as a desk to color or write...or play with play-doh! After that we headed to Paradise Park in Clermont. Kolton refers to it as the "new park"! He absolutely loves it there and asks to go almost daily. We met up with my friend Charice and her son Jacob, who is 4 years old. They had so much fun together...I think we were there for almost 2 hours. It was nice to be able to have adult conversation at the same time! Kolton and I went to Lyn's Deli and Ice Cream Shop for lunch. Kolton had some turkey and chips so that he could have "rainbow" ice cream!
Then it was home for nap time!

After nap time he asked to play with Ellie (who lives across the street from us). They are seriously like brother and sister and they fight like it too! Saturday night was more of a fight night :). Kolton is struggling with sharing...and boy does he have some attitude! He loves her SO much that he wants to do everything she's doing or wants her to do what he's doing. They'll figure it out!
Sunday we went to church. On the mornings I volunteer, and Matt is away, Kolton and I have a "deal". If he gets ready super fast then we stop by the BP Station on the way to church and he gets to pick out a treat while I get my coffee. It works out GREAT! After church it was to Maw Maw's house for spaghetti and play time then home for a nap! He woke up from his nap at the exact time his Daddy walked in the door...perfect timing!!

Kids say the darndest things moment:
Today while at Maw Maw's house Kolton started delivering pretend pizza to all of us. Nini (aka Aunt Jeannie) asked him if there was pepperoni on hers and he said "yeah"...then she asked him if it had onions on it and he said "yeah" to that too. She made a sad face and said "I don't like onions on my pizza" to which he replied "then take em' off". He didn't miss a beat!!

Kolton takes pictures!

One of Kolton's Christmas presents was a Fisher Price Kid Tough Digital Camera from Mama June. This camera is awesome because it has a double viewfinder for kids so they can keep both eyes open (and see their subject) while aiming to take the picture. He has been practicing on it quite a bit! Here are a few pictures he's taken...the ones of mommy usually end up without the head...but I have faith he'll get it figured out eventually :).

Introduction

I have this friend, Kristi, who is extrememly creative and she has inspired me to try this blogging thing. I hope to get it figured out quickly and to keep it up to date...so that you all can keep up with us and with Kolton!
