First Few Weeks of the New Year...

These few weeks have been very hectic! The first weekend of the year Matt flew to North Carolina to announce a truck show. He left on a Thursday and returned home on Sunday morning. It is sometimes very trying for me when he is away...Kolton knows how to push all of mommy's buttons! We try to keep the weekends BUSY when Daddy is away!

This past weekend Matt was in Texas for another Monster Truck show. Once again he was gone from Thursday to Sunday. I took Kolton in for a haircut on Thursday. He does SO good. He sits in the chair all by himself and usually eats a snack while she does his hair. It takes almost a half hour but he sits there *mostly* patient! On Saturday Kolton and I went for a walk on the trail by Lake Minneola and then headed into downtown Clermont for the Arts and Crafts Festival. Kolton made out...he picked out a "construction" themed lap desk and we had his name put on it. It says Kolton's Construction Co. The basket will hold toys or books and the top he can use as a desk to color or write...or play with play-doh! After that we headed to Paradise Park in Clermont. Kolton refers to it as the "new park"! He absolutely loves it there and asks to go almost daily. We met up with my friend Charice and her son Jacob, who is 4 years old. They had so much fun together...I think we were there for almost 2 hours. It was nice to be able to have adult conversation at the same time! Kolton and I went to Lyn's Deli and Ice Cream Shop for lunch. Kolton had some turkey and chips so that he could have "rainbow" ice cream!
Then it was home for nap time!

After nap time he asked to play with Ellie (who lives across the street from us). They are seriously like brother and sister and they fight like it too! Saturday night was more of a fight night :). Kolton is struggling with sharing...and boy does he have some attitude! He loves her SO much that he wants to do everything she's doing or wants her to do what he's doing. They'll figure it out!
Sunday we went to church. On the mornings I volunteer, and Matt is away, Kolton and I have a "deal". If he gets ready super fast then we stop by the BP Station on the way to church and he gets to pick out a treat while I get my coffee. It works out GREAT! After church it was to Maw Maw's house for spaghetti and play time then home for a nap! He woke up from his nap at the exact time his Daddy walked in the door...perfect timing!!

Kids say the darndest things moment:
Today while at Maw Maw's house Kolton started delivering pretend pizza to all of us. Nini (aka Aunt Jeannie) asked him if there was pepperoni on hers and he said "yeah"...then she asked him if it had onions on it and he said "yeah" to that too. She made a sad face and said "I don't like onions on my pizza" to which he replied "then take em' off". He didn't miss a beat!!

Well, how cool is this! I admire you for being able to keep up with Kolton physically... I think maybe I can manage it in print. You guys are BUSY!
